SWEAT: Blisstake

Workshop: A creative workshop of experiment and thought. Final group work showcased in the Toledo Museum of Art during the Half & Half show.

Project Description: A group of talented designers were chosen for a creative workshop, SWEAT, based on experiment and thought. The topic question was, “What is the graphic expression of junk food in your life?” This topic resulted in multiple group discussion and individual experiments until the group came up with, “Blisstake,” a happy mistake. Each person place two of their own Blisstake’s into a hat and we each randomly drew two, giving me my project topic, cigarettes and ice cream. Choosing two of the most iconic brands of each, Ben & Jerry’s ice cream and Marlboro cigarettes the end result ended up being a daunting yet inviting mash up of the topics. Playing off the different types of cigarettes, three flavors were created: Minthol, Vanilla Light, and Dark Blend. The groups different experiments were placed onto business-sized cards and displayed in the Half & Half show at the Toledo Museum of Art.
